NLEX Road Warriors succeeded where three other teams failed.

The Road Warriors snapped Blackwater Bossing’s three-game winning streak with a 103-97 victory in the PBA Philippine Cup at the PhilSports Arena.

Six players, led by Robert Bolick scored in double figures for the Road Warriors of coach Frankie Lim.

Bolick finished with 21 points, including the four three-pointers, nine rebounds and nine assists in 38 minutes of action.

Jhan Nermal added 16 points and seven rebounds, while Robbie Herndon and Dominic Fajardo contributed14 points each. Herndon also had 10 rebounds.

Baser Amer and Anthony Semerad chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Rey Suerte led Blackwater’s scoring with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, seven rebounds and four assists in almost 31 minutes of action for coach Jeff Cariaso.

Troy Rosario and Rey Nambatac had 16 points each while Frederick Tungcab chipped in with 15 points.

Tied at 92-all with 2:05 left in the fourth quarter, Richie Rodger’s two-point shot and Semerad’s three-pointer gave NLEX a five-point advantage with 1:20 remaining on the clock.

Tungcab’s lay-up cut the deficit to three, but Bolick responded with a three-pointer.

Even though Suerte made a trey, Bolick hit another three to seal the win.

“What’s good about Robert, he produces a lot of scores. But if you look at the assists department magaling ding pumasa si Bolick, eh,” said NLEX assistant coach Borgie Hermida in an interview postedxat the offocial PBA website.

“Ninety percent of the time, ang bola na kay Berto and 90 percent of the time he makes good decisions,” added Hermida.
