TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – The National Housing Authority (NHA) office based in Central Luzon conducted a visitation and site inspection at a local government-initiated socialized housing project here on Wednesday, January 11.

Inspected was Phase 2 of the Talavera Housing Project situated in Barangay Lomboy, wherein 60 units of the total 120 units to be awarded to members of the indigent sector are almost completed.

NHA Nueva Ecija/Tarlac/Aurora district manager Engr. Jerome M. Yabot, who led the site inspection, said he was “satisfied” with the fast implementation of the said housing project after seeing it almost completed.

Vice Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez, who started the project during his earlier tenure as the municipal chief executive, said it was a tripartite venture jointly implemented by the local government, the NHA, and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

She said the housing lot was provided by the LGU (local government unit), the site development from the DHSUD, and the budget for the housing project came from the NHA.

“Huwag po sana kayong magsawang tumulong dito sa amin sa Talavera sa pagpapatayo ng pabahay,” Mayor Nerito S. Santos Jr. told Yabot during the latter’s visit here.

The mayor said he and Vice Mayor Santos-Martinez will work together to build more housing projects in Talavera to accommodate those in need, including government workers.

Also present during the site inspection were municipal engineer Alfredo S. Atraje and municipal planning and development officer Evina G. Pablo.
