NATIONAL Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai led the groundbreaking and capsule laying of the Minsapinit Housing Project in Gingoog City, a resettlement project for victims of the recent flooding in Northern Mindanao, on January 20, 2023.

The shear line weather disruption that hit Northern Mindanao last December 24 to 26, 2022, affected more than 51,692 families. Badly hit was Gingoog City, wherein 987 houses were damaged and destroyed.

On January 11, 2023, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. directed the NHA to find a resettlement site for the affected families of the recent flooding.

Acting on the President’s order, Tai instructed the NHA Region X Office to coordinate with the city government of Gingoog for immediate implementation.

The Minsapinit Housing Project shall generate 125 single-storey row houses. Each unit shall have a living room, dining, kitchen, and two bedrooms.

Meanwhile, joining Tai in the ceremony were Misamis Oriental Governor Peter M. Unabia, Misamis Oriental 1st District Representative Christian S. Unabia, Gingoog City Mayor Erick G. Cañosa, Gingoog City Vice Mayor Thaddeus P. Lugo, NHA Region X Manager Engr. Alfonso L. Borlagdan, and District 1 Manager Engr. Fe P. A
