City University of Pasay marks 30th year with Mister and Miss CUP 2024
CUNETA ASTRODOME, Pasay City — In celebrating its 30th founding anniversary, the City University of Pasay (formerly Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasay) held various activities that highlighted the city government’s advocacy of upgrading education as a means for development and progress in the city.
Pasay City Mayor Imelda ‘Emy’ Calixto-Rubiano lauded the city’s premier university for its efforts in equipping the city’s youth and learners with quality education and the best skills for their future goals of achieving success in the various fields of science and technology.
A significant highlight of the anniversary celebration was the Search for Mister and Miss CUP 2024 which was held last May 7, 2024 at the historic Cuneta Astrodome.
Among the judges for the Search were Asia’s most outstanding female radio disc jockey Juanita Baisa (DWLS FM 97.1), Center for Nation Building director Prof. Jeffrey Oberas, Voice of the Philippines Season 1 contestant Angelica Roa, University of Luzon student standout Peter Eric Pardo and People’s Tonight columnist, former Presidential Communications Office undersecretary Marlon Purificacion.

Judges in the Mister and Miss CUP 2024 held at Cuneta Astrodome.
Professor Eroll Beja, chair and director of this year’s Search for Mr. And Ms. CUP 2024, was overwhelmed by the support from the CUP community and the success of the event which crowned College of Arts and Sciences representative Ivy Ellamil as Miss CUP 2024 and Norman Cota of the College of Nursing as Mister CUP 2024.
The coronation day were also attended by Pasay City Congressman Tony Calixto, Vice-Mayor Waldetrudes Del Rosario and other city councilors.
Listed among the candidate in the Search were Marie Rey-An Delos Santos, Celene Tiahra Ong, Aimy Diaz, Princess Ann Babol, Maxenne Leih Moros, Ashanti Mycha Malinao and Ma. Anna Sedigo for Miss CUP and Jessie Otayde, Andrew Lowel Remo, Norman Cota, Aljon Mazo, Al Billones, Nathaniel Alexis Firmanes, Daryll Keh and John Raven Anobling for Mister Cup.
Malinao (BSBA) and Delos Santos (BSOA) while Billones and Remo were hailed first and second runner-up, respectively.
The coronation of winners was led by CUP president- Dr. Rosanie Estuche, vice president for academics Dr. Maribel Gabuat and vice president for administration Prof. Martin Elwood Rivera.
