AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently swooped down on two establishments being suspected of “prostitution” fronts in the province of Bulacan, arresting seven alleged human traffickers and rescuing 36 trafficked women in the process.

The operations stemmed from an intelligence report received by the NBI-Bulacan District Office (NBI-BULDO) on the alleged human trafficking activities by the suspects in Bocaue town.

Acting on the said information, the NBI-BULDO conducted a surveillance operation to verify the information and subsequently planned an entrapment operation to apprehend the suspects.

On the first operation, the NBI-BULDO and local social workers raided the Pisces Health Spa Massage, where two suspects were arrested and 11 trafficked women rescued.

Subsequently, the NBI-BULDO proceeded to the second target, the Dumagat Grill Resto Bar and arrested the rest of the suspects, and rescued 25 trafficked women.

Suspects were presented for an inquest before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Bulacan for violation of Republic Act No. 9208, otherwise known as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended.
