Bake1DEPUTY Speaker and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar has stressed the importance for mothers to develop special skills to help boost their family’s income-generating opportunities to beef up their financial stability.

Mothers, including pregnant moms, need a proper financial support system that would guarantee that they have the needed resources to fund their family’s needs, Rep. Villar said as she joined expectant moms during a Nanay Fair livelihood baking seminar held recently at the covered court of Barangay Manuyo Uno in Las Piñas City.

Participating mothers from Barangays Manuyo Uno and Ilaya were taught during a live demo how to cook no-bake and baked breads and other products that they can sell to help augment their income.

Also during the event, the pregnant moms were given free prenatal check-ups. Rep. Villar, who is the CEO of ALL Value Group and managing director of Vista Land, also raffled off strollers, baby bottle sterilizers, diaper packs and rice packs to lucky moms. All participants were given gift packs containing health products at the end of the fair.

The Nanay Fair is part of Rep. Villar’s advocacy to ensure the welfare of expectant mothers and their babies. She has been been giving financial and medical assistance to poor pregnant women in Las Piñas to help them during their pregnancy.

She has also filed House Bill No. 5684 seeking to prohibit any health institution, hospital, or maternity lying-in clinics from refusing to admit or give assistance to pregnant mothers who are about to give birth.
