CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, La Union – Police Regional Office (PRO) 1 Director Police Brigadier Gen. John C. Chua commended on Tuesday the efforts of PRO 1 cops for the arrest of a “most wanted person” (MWP) in the national level with DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government) “bounty” for the arrest of the suspect through an established checkpoint along National Highway, Barangay Poblacion Sur, Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur.

The PRO 1 director said the 35-year-old suspect is a native and resident of the said town.

The MWP for murder case with DILG reward under MC No. 2021-120 dated October 20, 2021, with a reward of P140,000 for his capture.

The suspect was arrested based on a warrant of arrest for the crime of murder issued by Hon. Judge Marita B. Balloguing, Presiding Judge, RTC (Regional Trial Court) Branch 20, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

The operation stemmed after the police operatives headed by P/Lt. Col. Andrew P. Rabang, chief of the Provincial Intelligence Unit, received confidential information that the MWP plans to travel from Mt. Province to Candon.

This prompted Rabang to coordinate with the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of Lidlidda MPS, P/Cpt. Minerva Rabang for establishing an Intelligence-driven checkpoint that resulted in the suspect’s arrest.
