SANA, pagbigyan ninyo ako na sana, ang isunod ninyo sa akin na mayor ay si Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna.”

This was the call made by Presidential bet and Mayor Isko Moreno, as he assured Manila residents of equal opportunity in the city, regardless of their gender.

In his speech at the city government’s celebration of International Women’s Day, Moreno also said he is proud of the women who have been helping his administration succeed in all its programs.

These women, Moreno said, are led by Vice Mayor Lacuna, whom he called “Ina ng Maynila,” as well as all the officers and employees, from the high-ranking down to the job order personnel.

“I am extremely proud, happy, and grateful to the people of Manila for having given me a woman partner to administer over about 2 million citizens. I hope I did not fail you,” the mayor said, citing the help and support he had been receiving from Lacuna in her capacity as vice mayor, Manila City Council presiding officer, and head of the city’s health cluster, being a lady doctor.

According to Moreno, Congressman Yul Servo, who is now running for vice mayor, will also be lucky to have Lacuna as a working partner because she knows the job inside out, having worked closely with him from the moment he assumed the position in 2019 and especially during this pandemic.
