MC rider dies in hit-and-run in QC
A MOTORCYCLE (MC) rider died on the spot after he was hit and ran over by a cement mixer truck while crossing an intersection in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim, Henry Guianan, sustained severe head and body injuries.
A report from the Traffic Sector 3 of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) showed the accident occurred along Elliptical Avenue in Barangay Capitol Site at around 5:28 p.m.
The victim was reportedly traveling along the road when he was rear-ended by the truck at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue.
Probers said Guianan fell on the concrete pavement and was run over by the truck, killing him on the spot.
The truck’s driver, Daniel Calimquim, was arrested and is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
