VICE presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s projects for the children with special needs was commended.

Former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo said the program of the Davao City government provides hope for parents who have children with special needs.

Mayor Sara has initiated the creation of the Davao City Special Needs Intervention Center for Children.

The city government is now building a P70-Million facility that will offer medical care for children with special needs. The construction was scheduled to start in 2020 but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Panelo said the country has more than five million children with special needs.

“Kailangan ang gobyerno ay ma-obliga na magbigay ng special education sa kanila, ng libreng rehabilitation, at magtayo ng mga care facilities upang kung mamatay ang kanilang mga magulang, merong gobyernong mag-aalaga sa mga special children,” he said.

Panelo has also declared before members of the Batasan Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association (BATODA) his support for the Bongbong Marcos-Sara Duterte UniTeam tandem

“Komportable ako at natutuwa ako na si Mayor Inday Sara Duterte ay pumili ng ka-tandem at yon ay si Bongbong Marcos,” he said.

Panelo said the UniTeam’s message for hope, unity, and continuity are what the country needs in pursuing development and ensuring no one is left behind.

Mayor Sara was in Quezon City to meet with supporters in key barangays. She was with Anakalusugan Partylist Representative and Mayoral candidate Mike Defensor, Vice Mayoral candidate Winnie Castelo, and 2nd District Representative re-electionist Precious Castelo.
