MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno has requested Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna and the 38-member Manila City Council to pass a resolution allotting financial aid for those who were badly affected by typhoon “Odette.”

Lacuna, in turn, immediately convened the city council which she heads as its Presiding Officer. Lacuna said she and the councilors are already used to holding swift sessions as they have done ever since, especially for purposes of addressing the pandemic.

The mayor also appealed to the “Good Samaritans” in Manila to help, saying the allocation will go to relief operations in Cebu province and other areas in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Moreno said: “I have already asked the presiding officer of the City Council, Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, to immediately hold a special session and a resolution be passed allocating a certain sum of money for the typhoon victims in the Visayas and Mindanao.”

The mayor also directed those who can spare money to the “Tulong ng Manilenyo sa mga Nasalanta ni Odette” a fund-raising campaign where private individuals may be able to give their donations for the typhoon victims.
