Man with guns held in Lipa
A MAN armed with handguns was arrested by the police while roaming around in the vicinity of Purok 3, Bgy. San Benito in Lipa City, Batangas at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
Lipa City Police Station (CPS) chief Lt. Col. Lory Tarrazona identified the suspect as Mario Delos Angeles y Toledo.
A telephone call from a concerned citizen was received around 5:30 p.m. by Lipa CPS personnel and reported that Angeles who carried guns was roaming around the said village.
Police immediately responded to the scene and arrested the suspect.
One cal. .45 Colt 70 pistol loaded with live ammo, a black sling bag containing another handgun and a cal. .38 revolver without serial number loaded with three live bullets were confiscated from the suspect, Tarrazona said.
Meanwhile, also in Lipa City, police said an unidentified man driving a Suzuki X-4 motorcycle with engine number GP125-129297 died in an accident at 12:10 a.m. while driving the vehicle along Bgy. Sampaguita, Lipa City the other day.
Police have no clue about the identifications of the driver who sustained severe injuries in the head and died on the spot.
Case officers P/SSg Ireneo Resma Balita and P/Cpl Eliseo Sambayan Lipay’s investigation showed that the unknown victim was seen driving a motorcycle heading towards Lipa City proper when he lost control on the steering handle, swerved and hit the concrete wall.
Police investigation is ongoing.
