THE Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region West (LTO-NCR West) conducted a road safety seminar for the management personnel of bus companies plying routes in Metro Manila and in the provinces, said a ranking official of the agency.

LTO-NCR West Regional Director Roque I. Verzosa III said the activity forms part of the continuing commitment of their office to have “safer roads” for all motorists.

Verzosa said the participating bus companies include DLTB Bus Co., VTCI, PSNTI, GV Florida, Phil. Rabbit, Partas Trans Co., Baliwag Transit, Sta Lucia Express, Victory Liner Inc., Del Monte Motor Works, Ceres Transport Inc., BBL Trans System Inc., JAM/Solid North, Cabdin Bus Line, Five Start Bus Co., Baliwag Trans Inc., and Fariñas Trans Inc.

“Ginagawa natin to upang matiyak ang kaayusan at kaligtasan sa daan,” Versoza said.

Verzosa added that there will be additional seminar-consultation gatherings in the future between the LTO and the bus companies.

“There will be more collaboration, coordination, and cooperation between us,” Verzosa stressed.

During the said seminar, the invited speaker, Joey Yap, a road safety expert instructor, emphasized the importance of checking the roadworthiness of their buses.

During the question and answer portion, issues and concerns were raised and addressed, such as on the vehicle apprehension and roadworthiness checklist.

Meanwhile, the regional director invited the participants to join the newly-created LTO-NCR West Viber Channel, where they will be updated on the agency’s latest pronouncements and developments.

He said this is in line with Transportation Assistant Secretary and LTO Chief Jose Arturo M. Tugade’s call for transparency and informed public.
