PATAY ang isang opisyal ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) matapos pagbabarilin ng isang nakamotorsiklong suspek ang minamanehong sasakyan ng biktima Biyernes ng gabi sa Quezon City.

Idineklarang dead on arrival sa East Avenue Medical Center ang biktimang si Mercedita Gutierrez, 64, chief ng LTO registration division matapos magtamo ng mga tama ng baril sa ulo at katawan.

Agad bumuo ang Quezon City Police District (QCPD) ng special investigation task group (SITG) upang tutukan ang imbestigasyon sa pamamaril kay Gutierrez.

Ayon kay QCPD director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, ang SITG ay pamumunuan ni deputy district director for operations Col. Amante Daro.

“Our prayers and sympathy to the bereaved family of the victim. The QCPD will not stop pursuing the suspect and we will make sure that justice will be served,” ayon kay Maranan sa isang statement.

Nangyari ang insidente pasado ala sais ng gabi sa kanto ng K-H street at Kamias Road sa Barangay Pinyahan.

Minamaneho umano ni Gutierrez ang isang Toyota Starex van nang lapitan ng suspek at paulanan ng bala.

Ayon sa isang saksi, sakay ang suspek ng isang motorsiklo.

Nawalan umano ng kontrol ang biktima sa manibela at sumalpok ito sa katabing container van.

Agad na tumakas ang suspek sakay ng kaniyang motorsiklo.

“Nakita ko ‘yung nakamotor na sumemplang sa gilid tapos tinayo, inikot niya saka siya umalis,” ayon sa saksi.

Narekober ng pulisya malapit sa pinangyarihan ng krimen ang isang itim na helmet na posible umanong pag aari ng suspek.

Samantala, kinondena ni LTO Chief Asst. Sec. Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II ang nasabing insidente.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng nasabing opisyal na iimbestigahan ang pamamaslang.

The entire Land Transportation Office (LTO) family condemns in the strongest terms the killing of one of our own, Mercedita Gutierrez, in a gun attack in Quezon City on Friday, May 24.
Ms Gutierrez was the chief of the Registration Section of the LTO Central Office.

This is a cowardly act and we assure her family and the public of our untiring efforts to coordinate with the Philippine National Police and closely monitor the investigation of this incident to bring all the perpetrators of this crime behind bars.
