Lalamove rider nabbed for P150,000 dog theft

A LALAMOVE delivery rider and his cohort who allegedly stole a hybrid pet dog worth P150,000.00 were arrested in Quezon Ciry on Wednesday.

Arrested were Patrick Cenen, 28 years old, the Lalamove Rider and Catherine Cargason, 28, both residents of Brgy. Mayamot, Antipolo City, Rizal for stealing a dog in Antipolo City.

It was reported that the pet dog owned by victim Irene Resureccion-Medrano, Senior Assistant City Prosecutor of Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office was taken while playing in front of the gate of their residence at Vermont Park Executive Village, Antipolo City by an unidentified male delivery rider in the morning of June 12, 2023.

Upon learning of the incident, operatives immediately conducted a follow-up operation through cyber patrol, social media and other online platforms which resulted in the identification of the male rider as suspect Cenen.

They were also able to contact Cargason, who agreed to bring the stolen pet dog when they met up at SM Masinag.

Joint operatives of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU), Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), Quezon City District Anti-Crime Team (QCDACT/ QCCPU) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-QCDFU) and CIDG Rizal PFU proceeded to the meet-up area and spotted Cenen on board his driven motorcycle who was monitoring Cargason from a distance.

Confirming his identity based on the cyber information,authorities immediately effected the suspects’
arrest.

The hybrid pet dog and one unit of RUSI motorcycle with attached improvised plate No. of 130303 were recovered.

The arrested suspects will be charged for Theft before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

QCPD Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas D Torre III lauded the operatives for their immediate action that led to the arrest of the suspects.
