Laguna has new top cop

KAMPO HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL, Sta .Cruz, Laguna – Laguna province has new police director in the person of Col. Gauvin Mel Unos.

Unos replaced outgoing Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) director Col. Harold Depositar.

Unos and Depositar were both graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) “Kabalikat” Class of 1998.

Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) Col. Aligre Martinez representing Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas presided the formal turnover of command held last Thursday in this camp.

Present during the turnover rites were National Police Commission (Napolcom) provincial officer attorney Mia Quijano, Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez, chiefs of police from the six cities and the 26 towns of the province, and the staff members of the LPPO.

Prior to his new post, Unos was assigned at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 10. He also served as the chief of police of San Pedro City in Laguna.

Unos vowed to continue the programs of the PNP.

“Kung kinakailangan ituloy natin ang mga pinasimulan na ginawa ng ating outgoing provincial police director para sa mamayan ng Laguna, gagawin natin, ” Unos said.
