Mario FetalinoTOP LAWYER Jesse Andres is in a place where he’s needed most the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Known for successfully prosecuting high profile criminal cases including the Vizconde Massacre, Andres is going to be a big helping hand for Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla.
Remulla is currently on a crusade to reform the DOJ and its attached agencies.

Just recently, he vowed to take immediate action against misguided elements at the Land Registration Authority (LRA), Bureau of Immigration (BI), and Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

The former lawmaker said he is aware of syndicates in the LRA, extortion cases at BI, and shenanigans at BuCor.

Remulla said corruption at BI gives the country a bad image in the international community while BuCor should protect, not harm, the society.

In achieving his mission, Remulla could highly rely on Undersecretary Andres – a fighting lawyer who finishes the job.

Triumphant Honey Lacuna-Pangan made history by becoming the first female mayor of Manila. Recently, the city’s top lady executive identified plans she would prioritize during her term.

Unfortunately, not included in the list is the call of many Manilans and residents of other cities to junk the highly punitive non-contact apprehension in the capital city of the Philippines.

The controversial traffic regulatory measure has caused a lot of financial and economic pain to many motorists especially the small ones – jeepney and taxi drivers.

I hope the new mayor can do something about it.

Nevertheless, she vowed to prioritize the health of Manila residents and will expand the programs of her predecessor, Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

According to her, she will strengthen the delivery of services in accordance with the Universal Health Care Act. She also eyes to build “super health centers” with the capability of conducting laboratory tests for indigent residents.

She likewise asked the health cluster to be prepared in case of another surge of Covid-19 cases.

The monthly P500 pension for the elderly will continue, she assured, and said the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs will build a bigger office and organize the list of senior citizens.

Financial assistance for solo parents, persons with disabilities, and allowances for senior high school students and college students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Universidad de Manila will not be discontinued.

The anti-illegal drugs campaign, through the Manila Anti-Drug Abuse Council and Manila Police District, will be intensified.

Good luck ma’am!
