Hogtied man found in Batangas cassava farm

AN UNIDENTIFIED body of a man was found by a passerby on a cassava farm at 3:30 p.m. in Barangay Santol, Tanauan City, Batangas, the other day.

A report to Batangas Police Director P/Col Pedro D. Soliba by Tanauan City Police Station (CPS) Chief P/Lt. Col. Carlos P. Lanuza said the victim was more or less five feet in height, had a fair complexion, and was wearing gray shorts and a black T-shirt, both hands were tied in his back, and his face was wrapped with masking tape.

Authorities received a call from the barangay public safety officer or BPSO reporting a male corpse found in a creat at Sitio Malipa in the said barangay.

Probers immediately responded and proceeded to the area, and the Scene of Crime Operative (SOCO) technicians processed the scene.

Initial investigation showed that at about 2:00 p.m., a helper at a cassava farm saw the victim lying on the creek more or less 50 meters near a cassava farm and immediately informed Bgy. Santol officials.
