HINDI dapat pag-aksayahan ng panahon ni Presidente Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang mga heckler, troll at destabilizer na nagpapakalat ng kasinungalingan laban sa kanya makaraang i-flag niya ang umano’y “secret deal” sa pagitan nina dating Presidente Rodrigo R. Duterte at Chinese President Xi Jinping sa sovereign claim ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea.

“The President will not waste his and the people’s time in using the presidential pulpit to respond to lies the destabilizers are spreading, but he will not hesitate in using it to call out acts of that will compromise national interest committed through a secret deal against us,” pahayag ni Camarines Sur 2nd District Rep. Luis Raymund “L-Ray” Villafuerte Jr. sa isang statement.

Ginawa ni Rep. Villafuerte, ang presidente ng National Unity Party (NUP), ang pahayag makaraang lumutang sa publiko ang mga detalye hinggil sa umano’y ‘secret deal’ sa pagitan ni Duterte at ng China tungkol sa West Philippine Sea, na tinawag ng ilan sa mga kritiko ng dating Pangulo na “pagtataksil sa bayan.”

“The answer is simple. If it concerns the nation’s business, the President responds. If it is personal, he shrugs it off,” sabi ng mambabatas makaraang batikusin ng mga heckler ang Pangulo sa pagsisiwalat ng secret deal.

Tinawag ang komento ng Pangulo bilang “statesman-like,” tiniyak ni Rep. Villafuerte sa publiko na “the President can weather the harshest vitriol hurled against him, and because they are false, are best left unanswered.”

“The President’s statement on the ‘secret agreement’ has been measured, responsible, statesman-like and factual, as befits the office he holds,” anang Camarines Sur lawmaker.

“As if on cue, those who have been heckling the President are now shouting their latest baseless tirade from the rooftops: Why has he been commenting on the ‘secret agreement’ issue when he has been silent on the many brickbats thrown against him?” dagdag pa niya.

Sinabi ni Rep. Villafuerte na tungkuln ni Presidente Marcos, bilang lider ng bansa, na ipagtanggol at pangalagaan ang pambansang interes tuwing may pagbabanta rito.

“The President is not singling out any party when he is vocal in asserting our sovereignty on a territory which by law and history is ours,” pagbibigay-diin ng mambabatas.
