FAB okays voluntary wearing of face masks

FREEPORT AREA OF BATAAN (FAB) – The state-run Freeport Area of Bataan has eased the health protocol based on the Malacañang directive.

FAB Administrator Engr. Emmanuel Pineda said in a statement that “In line with the issued Executive Order (EO) No. 03 S.2022 of the Office of the President Allowing voluntary wearing of a face mask in outdoor settings and reiterating the continued implementation of Minimum Public Health Standards during the state of Public Health Emergency relative to the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) shall apply the following changes in the implementation of the Minimum Public Health Standards within the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).

The voluntary wearing of face masks in open spaces and non-crowded outdoor areas with good ventilation (allows physical distancing) is hereby allowed, provided that not fully-vaccinated individuals, senior citizens, and immunocompromised individuals are highly encouraged to wear their masks and to observe physical distancing.”

Face masks shall continue to be worn in indoor private or public establishments, including in public vehicles and outdoor settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Wearing of face mask at mass gatherings and other crowded settings in the Freeport Area of Bataan, even when done outdoors or in open spaces, is still required for the whole duration of the event.

FAB was once the epicenter of the pandemic affecting thousands of workers.
