KIANNA Dy came through with 20 points as F2 Logistics had a triumphant Premier Volleyball League debut following a 25-15, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22 romp of Black Mamba-Army yesterday at the Paco Arena.

It was Dy who produced the match winner for the Cargo Movers after the Lady Troopers, who surprisingly snatched the third set, were able to save two match points.

The moment has finally here for F2 Logistics, one of the country’s most successful clubs, to be belong to the now-professional league after missing last year’s campaign due to injuries.

“We are very excited to be a part of the PVL finally. We just keep on preparing and studying other teams as we continue this tournament,” said Dy, who had a team-high four blocks.

Ara Galang was also solid for the Cargo Movers with 11 points and 15 receptions, Majoy Baron had two service aces to finish with 10 points, while Aby Maraño added nine points, including three blocks.

Iris Tolenada, F2 Logistics’ starting setter, tossed in 27 excellent sets and fired two service aces, while libero Dawn Macandili collected 19 digs.

Tipped to rule Group A, the Cargo Movers know that every game has utmost importance.

“We will take it one game at a time. We don’t know what will happen talaga. Every other day ang match namin. We just have to prepare, regardless kung sino ang teams na nandiyan,” said assistant coach Benson Bocboc, who filled in for head coach Ramil de Jesus who is unavailable.

F2 Logistics was dominant in the first two sets but Army came back in the third to get a lifeline.

But the Cargo Movers, with Tin Tiamzon returning in the fourth set after sitting out in the third with Dzi Gervacio giving court, were able to regroup and showed resiliency to thwart any hopes for a Lady Troopers fightback.

“Matibay at experienced ang Army na iyan. Kahit saan mo dalhin iyan, lalaban at lalaban iyan. Nakita naman natin na nag-iinit sila, mas nage-enjoy sila sa ginagawa nila. Kailangan lang talaga i-push natin para makuha natin yung panalo,” said Bocboc.

Royse Tubino took the scoring mantle for the Lady Troopers with 18 kills while new acquisition Michelle Morente added nine kills, 17 digs and seven receptions.
