NARVACAN, Ilocos Sur -From Beauty Queen to politics.
After winning as Miss Binibining Pilipinas International (2006) Denille Lou Valmonte – Valera, also succeeded in politics as she won in a landslide victory as the new barangay captain of barangay San Jose, this town.
“Although she is a neophyte in politics, she won in a landslide victory. The people of San Jose want Denille to be their barangay leader,” said Vice Mayor Caloy Valera.
Denille is married to Ken Valera, the vice mayor’s brother.
A graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Management from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, the newly-elected barangay captain owns and manages a Kowloon House branch and is one of the founders of the Turismo Pilipina 2008.
She is active in various charity works where she has gained the admiration and respect of the public.
