Ecija tanod shot dead by MC-riding suspects
SAN ISIDRO, Nueva Ecija – A motorcycle-riding barangay tanod did not reach his home alive after he was peppered with bullets by two unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects here on Wednesday night.
Police said barangay tanod Edwin De Guzman, 48, of Villegas Subd., Bgy. Malapit, this town was driving his red Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle on his way home when he was waylaid at 8:10 p.m.
He slowed down upon reaching a road hump in the said area and seeing this, one of the suspects, who were coming from the opposite direction aboard a black Honda Wave motorcycle, fired at the victim using a cal. 45 pistol, hitting him in the head and body.
Police said the suspects fled towards the direction of Gapan City after the killing.
Police are still investigating the incident.
