E-bike driver shot dead in Paranaque
A 22-year-old electronic bike (e-bike) driver was shot and killed by a still unidentified gunman while having dinner at an eatery Thursday evening in Paranaque City.
The victim, identified as Anthony Aguilar, of Opeña St., in Bgy. Baclaran, died on the spot from two gunshot wounds in the head. The suspect, who was wearing a black jacket and helmet, immediately fled from the crime scene after the killing.
Report reaching the office of Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Mark Pespes showed the victim was eating his dinner at an eatery on E. Rodriguez St. in Bgy. Baclaran, at around 7:45 p.m., when the suspect approached him from behind and without a word shot him twice at close range, killing him instantly.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was jailed for robbery and possession of illegal drugs and released from jail last year.
The owner of an eatery told police that the victim had no known enemies and was simply earning his living from driving an e-bike.
An investigation is still ongoing to determine the motive behind the killing. Members of Baclaran Police Sub-Station led by P/Maj. Oliver Galarpe were conducting follow-up operations for possible identification and arrest of the suspect.
