DS Suarez: Imbestigasyon ni Bato sa ‘PDEA leaks’ pagsasayang ng oras, resources ng Senado
ISANG lider ng Kamara de Representantes ang nagpahayag ng pagkadismaya sa Senado dahil hinahayaan lamang umano nito na magpatuloy ang pagdinig ng komite ni Sen. Bato Dela Rosa kaugnay ng PDEA leaks kahit wala naman umano itong pinatutunguhan.
Sinabi ni Deputy Speaker at Quezon Rep. David “Jayjay Suarez na ang imbestigasyon ng Senate Committee on Public Order na pinamumunuan ni Dela Rosa ay pagsasayang lamang ng oras, effort, pondo, at resources ng Senado.
“Not only did I expect more from the good Senator (Bato), but I expected more from the Senate leadership … When it comes to the Senate, for the past two hearings that they had, I really don’t understand why they are spending so much time, effort, money, and resources sa mga bagay-bagay na wala namang katotohanan,” ani Suarez sa press briefing ng Kamara na ginanap sa Manila Polo Club sa Makati.
Itinanggi na ng PDEA ang alegasyon ng dating ahente nito na si Jonathan Morales na nagsasabing totoo ang dokumento na nag-uugnay kay dating Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. sa paggamit ng iligal na droga.
Si Morales ay sinibak ng PDEA ilang taon na ang nakakaraan dahil sa dishonesty at misconduct.
“In fact, ‘yong credibility ng witness is questionable, pati ‘yong PDEA sinabi na walang katotohanan din ‘yong binabanggit ni Morales, at ang hindi ko maintindihan bakit ba pinapayagan, when we know for a fact that number one, it’s not true; number two, he is lying, and number three, he has no evidence to show,” sabi ni Suarez.
Binigyan-diin ni Suarez ang punto ni Sen. Chiz Escudero kaugnay ng pagdinig.
“And that point raised by Senator Chiz Escudero is excellent – the point was the leak of the document, so why are we talking about personalities in the document?” tanong ni Suarez.
Kung ang punto umano ng imbestigasyon ng Senado ay ang sinasabing nag-leak na dokumento ang tanong umano dapat ay kung papaano ito nag-leak, at kung sinu-sino ang kasabwat sa pagli-leak nito.
“Eh nagdamay-damay ka pa ng mga personalidad at mga pangalan doon na wala namang kinalaman dapat sa specific na investigation na isinasagawa ng committee. So my appreciation of that fact, number one, you’re out to malign, destroy, the personalities mentioned, di umano, sa document,” wika pa ni Suarez.
“Sa akin, this is very unfortunate. It saddens me that we have to go down to this level of political discourse when we should focus our attention on more important issues such as the West Philippine Sea, issues such as the Rice Tariffication Law, which the Committee on Agriculture has recently approved, and issues such as rise in prices of commodities na inaaral ngayon ng Mababang Kapulungan,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.
