DOTr welcomes business sector support to fast-track EDSA Busway
COMMUTERS, motorists, and other road users are expected to benefit from a convenient and safe urban transport infrastructure as the Department of Transportation (DOTr), in partnership with SM Prime Holdings, broke ground on Tuesday with the state-of-the-art EDSA Busway Concourse.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said the EDSA Busway Concourse, first to be constructed in SM North EDSA, is a manifestation of a successful partnership between the public and private sectors.
Sec. Bautista said the DOTr also partnered with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Local Government of Quezon City in establishing the project with one footbridge each in SM North EDSA and SM Megamall, and a ground station in SM MOA.
The walkways are intended for the commuters using the EDSA Busway stations, and for pedestrians crossing EDSA from one side to the other.
