In fairness to GMA, he was offered a new TV project, ang “To Have and to Hold” kung saan sana niya katambal sina Carla Abellana at Max Collins pero umatras siya at pinalitan sa Kapuso resident actor na si Rocco Nacino.

JULIUS Caesar Concepcion Babao popularly known as Julius Babao (54) met his lovely wife Christine Bersola-Babao as co-host in “Alas Singko y Medya” daily morning show on ABS-CBN in 1996. The couple got married on December 8, 2003 sa San Antonio de Padua sub-parish in Antipolo City at sila’y nabiyayaan ng dalawang anak na sina Antonia Julia Sofia (Anya) na isinilang nung 2005 at si Antonio Francesco (Nio) who was born in 2010.

Nang magtapos sa ere ang “Alas Singko y Medya,” the couple hosted “Talk TV” from 2001 to 2002. Muli silang nagsama sa weekend radio show (Saturdays and Sundays) sa DZMM, ang “Morning with Julius and Tintin” from 6 a.m, to 8 a.m. habang si Julius ang solong naghahatid ng 7:00 a.m. newscast, ang “Radyo Patrol Balita: Alas Siyete” on weekends. When Tintin moved to TV5, naging co-anchor ni Julius si Zen Hernandez at ito’y naging “Morning with Julius and Zen” at silang dalawa na rin ang naghahatid ng weekend 7 a.m. newscast sa DZMM TeleRadyo.

Having been happily married for over 18 years now, Julius admits that Tintin is not only his wife and mother to his children but his best friend, his partner and travel buddy as well. They also share the same interests.

Ayon kay Julius, malaking parte ang pag-uusap nilang mag-asawa when they are making major decisions tulad ng paglipat niya sa TV5 after 28 years of being with ABS-CBN. He prayed (along with his family) and asked for signs and it was given to him.

“Maihahalintulad niyo po ako sa isang anak na iniwan ang kanyang magulang to become independent and start a new life of my own,” ani Julius.

Nang mawalan ng prangkisa ang ABS-CBN nung May 2020, he stayed on with the network until December 31, 2021.

Si Julius ay nagtapos ng Mass Communications major in Films and Audio Visual Communications sa University in the Philippines kung saan din grumadweyt si Tintin for the same course.

After graduation, he worked as production assistant sa DZBB radio ng GMA until he was promoted as radio reporter and contributor for GMA News. In 1993, he left GMA and moved to ABS-CBN kung saan siya nagsimula bilang TV news reporter then stand-by anchor for the late Frankie Evangelista sa “TV Patrol”. Three years later in 1996, he co-hosted the daily morning show ng ABS-CBN, ang “Alas Singko y Medya” kung saan niya nakasama si Tintin. In April 2003, he joined the flagship news program ng ABS-CBN, ang “TV Patrol” at tumagal ito until 2010. Then moved to the late night news program “Bandila” with Karen Davila.

Her also co-anchored the daily noontime newscast on TeleRadyo along with Tony Velasquez, ang “Radyo Patrol Balita: Alas Dose”.

Talks are underway for his other programs which might include radio public service program.

Julius was warmly welcomed by Cignal TV and TV5 president Robert Galang and 1st Vice President for News and Information, Luchi Cruz-Valdez along with former ABS-CBN colleagues Cheryl Cosim, Gretchen Ho, Ed Lingao, DJ Chacha, Me An Los Banos at iba pang Kapatid personalities.
