Dentist nabbed for ‘tax evasion’ in Cavite
DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite – A female dentist was arrested after authorities served the warrant of arrest for alleged non-payment or evading taxes for years, Wednesday, April 19, at Barangay Salawag here.
Local police said the suspect was listed as a “wanted person” at the district level and was also a resident of Bgy. Salawag.
The dentist was nabbed by the combined force of the Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMaRT)-DID/D2 led by P/Maj. Dave N. Garcia and P/Capt. Edgar Z. Julian under the supervision of P/Maj. Edward G. Samonte, chief of SMaRT, and MDIT-RIU NCR personnel led by P/Capt. Jamil Datong.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Paulino Quitoras Gallegos of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 47 of Manila for violation of the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC).
The suspect allegedly avoided paying taxes when she operated her clinic at Sta. Mesa market in Manila for several years, which reached more than P100,000.
At least two police agents pretended to be “clients” of the dental clinic, and they positively identified the suspect and arrested her.
The suspect is now under police custody for proper disposition.
