AGENTS of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) on Wednesday raided a suspected drug trafficker’s house in San Jose del Monte City (SJDM) in Bulacan and arrested him after the search led to the recovery of some P60,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves, PNP-DEG director, Brigadier General Narciso D. Domingo said Thursday.

In a report to PNP Chief General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the official said that the arrested during the anti-narcotics operation was alias “Von-Von,” a resident of Palmera Subdivision in Barangay Kaypian, SJDM City.

Domingo said that members of the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 3, with the assistance of officers from the SJDMC Police Station, raided the residence of the suspect on the strength of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by a local court.

The search resulted in the confiscation of around 300 grams of dried marijuana leaves with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P60,000.

Domingo said that the arrested suspect was placed under the custody of the San Jose del Monte City police while the recovered drugs were submitted to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Group 3 for examination and safekeeping.

The arrested suspect will be facing charges for illegal possession of prohibited drugs under RA 9165, he added.
