THE number of COVID-19 cases in Quezon City has slightly increased this past week.

This was reported by OCTA Research, wherein it recorded the average daily cases of eight from the original average daily cases of six.

The OCTA Research also recorded an increase in positivity rate of 2.2% from 1.8%. The positivity rate is the number of cases that yield positive results from the COVID-19 test.

The reproduction number or “R0” in the city, on the other hand, was recorded at 1.07, which is higher than 0.83 last week.

The R0 will show the gravity of infection from the virus. An R0 with less than one will mean that every confirmed case of COVID-19 has a slight chance of infecting others or will cause a new infection.

However, the city continues to be at a “low-risk level” despite the increase in cases.

Meanwhile, the QC local government reiterated its reminder to the city residents to continue complying with the minimum health protocol to be safe from the virus and other infectious diseases.
