THE Manila Regional Trial Court on Monday acquitted former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam over the death of Batuan, Masbate vice mayor Charlie Yuson III in 2019 due to reasonable doubt.

The decision to acquit was handed down by Branch 42 Judge Dinah Aguila-Topacio of the Manila Regional Trial Court.

Also cleared were Cam’s son Marco Martin and several other individuals, GMA’s DZBB said.

Yuson was shot dead while having breakfast with Wilfredo Pineda and Alberto Alforte in Sampaloc, Manila on Oct. 10, 2019.

Pineda and Alforte were wounded in the attack. Yuson’s wife, Lalaine, accused Cam of masterminding his death over politics. But Cam has vehemently denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, Cam on Monday welcomed thelower court ruling

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Thank you Lord! All praises unto you,” Cam said in a short message to reporters.
