FOLLOWING the two-month delay (May to June) in the payment of salaries left behind by the previous administration, the new administration under Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval has been facilitating the immediate release of “unpaid salaries” while still ensuring the protection and judicious use of public funds.

The City of Malabon University (CMU) faculty and staff who were contracted for projects without proper documentation had to be “resolved” by the present administration.

Examinations and subsequent investigations were conducted to resolve the issue while ensuring that the integrity of the new administration was maintained.

The Malabon local government said they had diligently monitored all activities to ensure all backlogs were cleared. Operational reforms and new policies have likewise been instituted.

Moreover, despite the huge financial impact of CMU’s delisting from CHED due to the previous administration’s non-compliance, the new administration under Mayor Jeannie is still allotting substantial funds for purchasing a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to remedy all HR-related transactions.

After the faculty and staff were made aware of the previous administration’s “poor governance” and as the new administration has begun instituting “remedial measures” designed to ensure better supervision and compliance, the CMU workforce said they are confident on the enhancements to the policies and procedures instituted by the newly appointed President of CMU, Dr. Glen De Leon.
