PHILIPPINE National Police chief General Dionardo B. Carlos yesterday officially installed Major Gen. Jesus D. Cambay Jr. and Brigadier Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil as the new directors of the PNP Civil Security Group and Highway Patrol Group respectively.

Cambay, a member of Philippine Military Academy ‘Makatao’ Class of 1989, replaced his mistah Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. de Leon, who was named last week as the new PNP Director for Operations.

On the other hand, Brig. Gen. Marbil, a member of PMA ‘Sambisig’ Class of 1991 took over as new PNP-HPG director and was ordered by the PNP chief to produce more significant result in the unit’s campaign against car theft, carjacking and highway robberies as well as corruption.

Carlos used to be a former PNP-HPG director too. Marbil replaced Brig. Gen. Gregory B. Bogñalbal of PNP Academy Class 1994 who has been designated as the new Deputy Regional Director for Administration of Police Regional Office 4-A in Calabarzon region.

Bogñalbal replaced Colonel Ceazar Zarifo L. Tannagan who has been ordered relieved in connection with a criminal and administrative case previously filed against him.

The new designations in the PNP took effect as Gen. Carlos said he has ordered the evaluation of the performance of all 17 Police Regional Office directors and commanders of the different PNP national operational and administrative support units.

Journal Group sources said that Gen. Carlos has already ordered the administrative relief of one Mindanao police regional director amid an ongoing investigation ordered by Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo M. Año.
