Caloocan limits 1st dose COVID jabs

THE City Government of Caloocan temporarily limits on Tuesday their first dose vaccination for COVID-19 due to the meager supply of vaccine coming from the national government.

Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan said the city’s community vaccination sites are still open for the inoculation of residents who jave been scheduled for their second dose and for those already pre-listed for their first dose.

The city chief executive assured the people of Caloocan that once the new supply coming from the national government arrives, the vaccination schedules for walk-in at the community vaccination sites will resume.

On Tuesday, around 400 pre-listed residents received their first dose of Sinovac vaccine at the Saint Padre Pio Mission Area, Barangay 171 since the vaccine were already allocated for them before the supply ran out.

The City Health Office reported that as of July 6, 2021, a total of 487,557 individuals belonging to A1 up to A5 category group have been vaccinated with 117,728 already received their second dose of vaccine and have been fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the City of Muntinlupa and Municipality of Pateros also suspended the vaccination of their constituents due to lack of supply coming from the national government.

The Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) announced the suspension of the first dose vaccination for two weeks except for the remaining 56 individuals who were already scheduled on Tuesday, July 6.

The Municipality of Pateros also asked for forgiveness for the sudden suspension of administering the first dose for those with schedules and walk-ins in all their vaccination centers to ensure that there will be enough supply for those who are scheduled to receive their second dose.
