AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) on Monday arrested a 43-year-old call center from Davao City accused of threatening to upload illicit photos and videos of his ex-girlfriend if she didn’t agree to have sex with him again.

PNP-ACG Director Brigadier General Joel B. Doria said that the suspect is now facing criminal charges for violating Republic Act 9262 (Violence Against Women and their Children) and RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism), both in relation to RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

He was also charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after he yielded five plastic sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia following his arrest outside the Queensland Inn located along Dacudao Avenue in Davao City.

In a report to PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the official said that members of the Davao City Police Cyber Response Team, in coordination with the Sta. Ana Police Station made the arrest following a complaint from the woman, who was also not named to protect her privacy.

Doria said that the woman complained that the suspect threatened to expose their “sexually explicit” photos and videos if she didn’t agree to meet him at the said motel.

It turned out that the suspect told the complainant that he would only delete their sex videos and photos only if she met him in the motel.

An entrapment operation led to the arrest of the suspect, who is now being held at the Sta. Ana Police lock-up facility.

“The apprehension of the suspect is brought about by the immediate reporting of the victim through our Cybercrime Offices and the swift action of our personnel. This conveys that we are sworn to serve and protect the community,” Doria said.
