CA confirms appointment of CSC chief, 16 AFP officials

THE Commission on Appointments yesterday confirmed the appointments of Ryan Alvin Acosta as commissioner of the Commission on Civil Service and the 16 ad interim appointments of generals and senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Acosta, who replaced Leopoldo Roberto Valderosa, will serve until February 2, 2027.

MGen. Augustine Malinit, a native of Camiling, Tarlac and commander of the Air Defense Command of the Philippine Air Force, was the most senior among all officers confirmed.

Alsco confirmed were: Cerilo C. Balaoro Jr. to the rank of Brigadier General; Edwin E. Amadar to the rank of Brigadier General; Agnes Lynnette A. Flores to the rank of Colonel, Corps of Professors; Cleofe C. Pulmano to the rank of Colonel, Dental Service (Reserve); Warlito G. Chee Jr. to the rank of Colonel, Dental Service (Reserve); Michelle M. Ibuna to the rank of Colonel, Nurse Corps (Reserve); Alvin V. Flores to the rank of Brigadier General; Julio M. Cimatu to the rank of Colonel, Dental Service (Reserve); Adan F. Rose to the rank of Colonel, Chaplain Service (Reserve); Rex T. Armena to the rank of Colonel, Chaplain Service (Reserve); Dina F. Bergonia to the rank of Colonel, Nurse Corps (Reserve); Jonathan B. Rico to the rank of Colonel, Medical Corps (Reserve); Adonis R. Bajao to the rank of Major General; Oliver C. Maquiling to the rank of Brigadier General and Marcel D. Figuracion to the rank of Colon, Philippine Army.
