Bruce better off without a loveteam
BRUCE Roeland is a Fil-Belgian actor who’s 18 years old. His mother is Pinay named Yolanda Nablo and his dad is Belgian national named Michel Roeland. He was born in Antwerp, Belgium on November 3, 2004 and he came to Manila with his mom in 2014 when he was ten years old.
“My mom decided to come home and my dad stayed in Belgium,” he says when in our interview at the presscon of “Luv Is: Love at First Read” where he is part of the big cast. “They’re okay naman but my dad has since found a new partner and I have half siblings in Belgium who I got to visit recently.”
His mom pushed him to be a child actor and he was enrolled in acting, dancing and singing workshops. He then started acting as a child actor with ABS-CBN in 2016 in the daytime soap “Be My Lady” with Erich Gonzales and Daniel Matsunaga.
He eventually moved to GMA-7 and did several TV series where he played supporting roles like “The Cure”, “Sherlock Jr”, “Sirkus”, “TODA One I Love” and in “Prima Donnas” where he was paired with Althea Ablan. But GMA decided he’s better off solo and without a ka-love team and he trust their judgment for his career path.
Bruce has also appeared in several episodes of “Magpakailanman” and “Tadhana”. The episode in “MPK” where he played a teenager who falls in love with his stepmom, played by Katrina Halili, was a toprater. His life story has also been shown in “MPK” where he played himself, going through some trials in his young life.
Bruce now feels blessed as he is in two new shows. He’s part of the new drama series shown week nights at 5:40 PM, “Luv Is: Love at First Read”, and on Saturdays, he is in the new comedy show with Vic Sotto and Maja Salvador, “Open 24/7”.
In “Open 24/7”, he plays the role of Doe, a young man who grew up in the streets. “I have to study yung mga galawan ng isang lalaking lumaki sa kalye,” he says. “I really feel so blessed na makatrabaho ko si Bossing Vic kasi he is just so relaxed on the set. Parang hindi siya nagtatrabaho sa set and he is just being himself in portraying his role.”
In “Luv Is: Love at First Read”, he played the role of Risk and the name suits the role he plays as he is really a risk taker. He is a friend of Mavy Legaspi in the story and he is paired with Therese Malvar.
Bruce stands 5’11” and he works out regularly so he really looks like a young hunk. At 18, he has yet to have a girlfriend. “No time since I’m busy with work and school,” he says. “I’m in two shows and now, I’m also a college freshman taking up information technology at Mapua.”
How is it working with Mavy and Kyline? “Masarap silang katrabaho. Para lang kaming naglalaro sa set. The whole cast really bonded well. Now that we’ve finished taping the whole show, we all felt sad and I know we’re gonna miss each other’s company.”
