Big time drug peddlers nabbed, P700K shabu seized in Quezon
LUCENA CITY — Operatives yesterday arrested two suspected big time drug pushers and seized more than P.7 million worth of illegal drugs in an operation at Purok Rainbow, Bgy. Ibabang Iyam, this city.
Quezon police director Col. Joel Villanueva identified the arrested suspects as Allan Ian Diaz alias “Palawan,” 38, of Purok Matahimik; and John Mark Magdalena, 23, of Purok Masagana, both in Bgy. Cotta.
In his report to Calabarzon police director Brig. General Eliseo Cruz, Villanueva said the suspects were caught in a drug buy- bust carried out by Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence operatives of the Lucena City Police Station under Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea at 10:50 a.m. yesterday.
Albacea said the suspects have been under tight watch by his men following reports that they are involved in drug peddling.
The operation yielded 14 heat- sealed plastic sachets containing 37.42 grams of suspected shabu worth P763,368 and five P1,000 bills.
Village officials and a media representative witnessed the accounting of the seized evidence.
The suspects were detained at the Lucena City lock- up jail while the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office.
