Batangas poultry farm worker shot dead

A 46-YEAR-OLD worker was killed after being shot repeatedly by one of the two suspects inside the compound of the IBG poultry farm in Bgy. Malapad na Bato, Nasugbu, Batangas the other day.

Nasugbu town police head Major Mark Jason M. Gatdula identified the victim as Wodie Roxas y Macuha, alias Tongtong, 46, with live-in-partner, a helper at the poultry farm who hails from Masbate and is presently residing in Bgy. Malapad na Bato.

The two suspects who are at-large were identified as Rolando Botobara, alias Duran, resident of Sitio Pong-ol, Bgy. Malapad na Bato, and one alias Islao Calbayar of Sitio Kay Pusa, Bgy. Butucan, both of Nasugbu town.

Case investigator P/Cpl Raymart M. Cadeliña said the victim was in the farm’s guardhouse around 4:40 p.m. when the two suspects onboard a blue Suzuki Raider motorcycle and believed to be under the influence of liquor suddenly arrived and complained regarding the herd of flies in the poultry.

Moments later, Botobora, for an unknown reason, pulled out a cal .45 handgun and shot Roxas three times, then both immediately fled onboard their vehicle parked nearby towards the direction of Bgy. Dayap, also in this town.

Dragnet and a follow-up operation were immediately conducted by Nasugbu Municipal Police Station for immediate apprehension of the suspects.

The victim was rushed to Jabez Medical Center but was pronounced dead upon arrival by the attending physician.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives is conducting a thorough investigation at the scene.
