ACTRESS and celebrity mom Sunshine Cruz makes it a point to take care of her skin even when she shoots indoors for her TV or movie projects.

“Alam naman natin na kapag artista ka, exposed ka sa sun and light when we are taping even indoors,” said Sunshine.

“Baka kasi may magtatanong sa inyo, bakit kailangan ko pa ng pampaputi, maputi na ako? Iniisip ng mga tao, I’m using glutathione para pumuti. It’s one of the best whitening supplements for whiter or lighter skin.

“But for me, as an artist, kailangan may glow ang skin. It also serves as an anti-aging product. Of course, when you’re an artist, you are often exposed to sun, the skin becomes dull, your skin also ages.”

Since Sunshine started taking Thiocell, it really improved her skin, giving it an added glow. “I guess you saw that when I joined the Bench fashion show (last March),” she said. “I’ve already started taking Thiocell at that time.

“Ang sexy nila Ina Raymundo and Michelle Dee, who are Bench models. I really prepared for that. I worked out a lot before the Bench fashion show. I even hired a personal trainer.”

Sunshine is really grateful to Thiocell for the trust the product gave to her. She was welcomed by chief operating officer of Brady Pharma, Inc., Tenambhat Krishnamurthy Rameash.

“Nakakatuwa to endorse a product that you really believe in,” Sunshine said. “I really believe in Thiocell. It’s anti-aging, whitening and anti-oxidant.”

As an actress and product endorser, Sunshine really takes care of her skin especially when she’s exposed to the heat and sun. “That really affects our skin even if you’re indoors,” she attested.

“Especially if you are in your 40’s, I’m turning 47 in July, I know I really have to take care of my skin. That’s one thing that really helps so you will not lose your glow, nakaka-prevent ng age spots, melasma and freckles.

“Nagiging dull ang skin natin especially when we stay up late or when we stay under the sun while shooting. Thiocell is really effective because it gives you that glow.”

Sunshine has managed to maintain her youthful glow besides science and glutathione. She doesn’t keep it a secret how to take care of her skin, especially now that she came out as Thiocell brand ambassador.

“Kidding aside, I love to sleep,” Sunshine admitted. “Mahilig akong matulog. I’m an introvert, so I’d rather stay home with my kids and sleep. I stay away from negativity and dramas.

“I stay with my kids. I talk to them. We all love dogs. Therapeutic din sa amin ang dogs.

“I maintain a positive outlook in life. Sometimes, we have anxiety. Always be grateful for what you have. Kung ano ang wala, just focus on what you have.

“I work out three to four times a week. I used to box but now, iba na. In a few months, you’ll see a version na Sunshine 2.0. So, I’m working on my body. Self-love. Hindi lang toned and firmed. I wat a liitle bit of muscle talaga. Kailangan lang, mahalin ang sarili.

“If you expect a person to also love you, you have to love yourself. That’s what I’m doing now. I stay healthy and fit, not just for myself, but for my family.”

After the drama series, “Unbreak My Heart” ended last November on GMA 7, Sunshine is now concentrating on her three daughters who are busy finishing their studies.

“I know they need guidance,” Sunshine said. “I want to focus more on my children. That’s a personal choice for me.

“Angelina is on her last year in college and she’s a dean’s lister and first honors, as well as Sam, also a dean’s lister and second honors. Chesca finished her senior high and her choice for Ateneo, she got it.

“I will soon have two La Salistas and one Atenista. As long as mommy can still provide, their father (Cesar Montano) is also there, we do co-parenting.

“I want my daughters to concentrate on their studies. I tell them once they graduate, mag-uunahan pa ang mga companies to get them.”

Sunshine advises her daughters to always be careful. “Don’t be stupid,” she told them. “All of them are no longer minors. They can go out on dates. So, the only thing that I can do is talk to them and advise them on the best that they can do.

“My prayer is always there that they listen to me. I only want what’s best for them. In everything that I do, they also advise me. They know my hardships ever since I became a single mom. I raised them.

“They always tell me that they just want me to be happy in whatever I do. They understand me always. They respect my decisions. I’m happy and contented. I have three, intelligent and beautiful kids.

“Whatever it is that don’t come in my life, I am still blessed. I just want to rest because since 2013, I’ve been working in overlapping projects. Self-love first. We have to love ourselves first. We cannot expect a person to love us if we will not love ourselves.”
