AWARD-WINNING ECONOMIST BULLISH ON OPTIMIZING SOLAR POWER
IN terms of economics, the use of solar energy is the cheapest and most practical, entailing a minimum savings of 33% of home energy expenses.
This was revealed by Tito Maglaqui, one of the exponents of solar energy use during a regular media forum of the Capampangan in Media, Inc. (CAMI) being held every Friday at Clark Media Center (Bale Balita).
As the Managing Director of AlphaSolar Corporation (one of the pioneers in the solar energy space in the Philippines), Maglaqui discussed the economics of solar power.
“We are not here to replace fossil fuels. However, we have to present to the people, the economics of solar power as the solar power cost dropped in recent years, and in many places, it is even cheaper than coal or other fossil fuels” Maglaqui said.
According to Maglaqui, environmental concerns and increased production due to government incentives in some countries caused the thriving sustainable energy use. The direct costs of solar and wind energy for consumers have decreased.
“However, solar energy is the most practical and viable because it is not area sensitive as wind farms and is mostly used for residential and commercial means” he added.
The Managing Director said AlphaSolar has programs such as partnerships with financing firms, to make it easy for the masa to avail of solar energy.
Tito Maglaqui is an award-winning management and industrial expert, market analyst and solar energy exponent. The CEO Insights Asia named him One of the Top Ten Leaders of the Philippines 2023.
All over the Philippines, solar panels are now being installed to houses as prices are now affordable. Solar energy is the safest, most efficient and practical of all energy sources.
AlphaSolar was officially registered with the SEC in 2019. It started as a consulting firm. With a Belgian solar energy developer, the firm was instrumental in putting up the first solar farm inside the Clark Freeport in the Philippines.
As a solar engineering design, procurement and construction (EPC) company, AlphaSolar was the first to build industrial-scale solar rooftops inside the Clark Freeport – Viskase Asia Pacific Corporation and Singapore International Airlines Engineering.
