THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) said its agents had arrested a Norwegian pedophile accused of “sexually molesting” minors in his country and a Chinese man wanted for running a pyramid investment scam.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the 50-year-old Norwegian national was arrested last Sept. 24 at his residence in Angeles City, Pampanga, by operatives from the bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU).

On the other hand, the Chinese fugitive was arrested on Sept. 23 by FSU agents in Malate, Manila.

An arrest warrant was issued for his arrest by the public security bureau in Shanghai, China, for allegedly running an investment “pyramid scam” that victimized many of his compatriots.

Tansingco said both alien fugitives will be deported for being undesirable and undocumented aliens as their passports were already revoked by their respective governments.

The BI chief described the Norweigan as a “high-profile” fugitive who is charged with multiple sex-related crimes in Norway.

Information obtained from Interpol’s National Central Bureau (NCB) in Manila revealed that he has outstanding arrest warrants issued by the Salten and Lotofen District Court in Norway on June 20, 2022.

He was reportedly indicted before the said court on charges of aggravated sexual assault and sexual activity on a child under 14 years old, violating Norwegian laws.

The two suspects are presently detained at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, pending deportation.
