NEW YORK CITY, United States — “FIESTA Mo SA USA (FMSU) is not only a tradition but a legacy for all Fil-Am generations. The event makes the elderly reminisce their culture and heritage with renewed pride. It also teaches present Fil-Ams love for their roots and lineage and leaves future ages reason to be proud of being part of the beauty of being Filipino.”

This was stressed by Fil-Am Movement Chairman Inc. Fernando Solis following the successful return of Fiesta Mo sa USA last July 30, 2022 at the Osceola Heritage Park (Event Center) along 1875 Silver Spur Lane, Kissimmee, Florida 34744.

The much-awaited festivity once again featured food vendors in Florida who served the best cuisines, as well as merchandise sellers and exhibitors from the Philippines and the United States US).

FMSU was made more glam and glitzy by celebrity idols Kim Chiu and Zanjoe Marudo who were invited in collaboration with iwantTFC Sama Saya 2022.

Kim Chiu is a Filipina actress, model, host, singer, dancer, and vlogger. Chiu garnered acclaim at a young age for her acting performances on television and cinema.

She is known as Philippine showbiz’s “Chinita Princess” and had been hailed as the “Princess of Philippine Movies and TV” for three consecutive years.

She is managed by Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s home-based talent agency, where she is referred to as the “Queen of the Dance Floor”.

Kim Chiu started her showbiz career at 16 after winning the first teen edition of the reality show Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). She then starred in the television series “Sana Maulit Muli” (2007), which won her the year’s Most Promising Female Star and Most Popular Loveteam with Gerald Anderson at the GMMSF Awards.

This was followed by a string of successful projects, including leading roles in television dramas such as “My Girl” (2008), “Tayong Dalawa” (2009), “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” (2010), “My Binondo Girl” (2011–2012), “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” (2012–2013), “Ikaw Lamang” (2014), “The Story of Us” (2016), “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin” (2017–2018), “Love Thy Woman” (2020) and “Bawal Lumabas: The Series” (2020).
Zanjoe Marudo is a Filipino actor and model. He began his career after finishing as the 4th Big Placer of PBB: Celebrity Edition (2006).

Since then he has starred in the TV series’ “Lovers in Paris” (2009), “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Kristine” (2010), “Annaliza” (2013), “Dream Dad” (2014), “Tubig at Langis” (2016), “My Dear Heart” (2017), “Playhouse” (2018-2019), “Walang Hanggang Paalam” (2020-2021), and “The Broken Marriage Vow” (2022-current).

Aside from his television roles, Marudo is also known for his roles in films such as “You Got Me!” (2007), “Kimmy Dora: Kambal sa Kiyeme” (2009), “Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme” (2012), “One More Try” (2012), “Bromance: My Brother’s Romance” (2013), “Maria Leonora Teresa” (2014), and “The Third Party” (2016).

Marudo is a contract artist of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic.

Other highlights of the daylong fiesta included inspirational and joyful speeches of FAMI, Kissimmee Mayor, ConGen and ABS-CBN Foundation Int’l and the coronation of the Princess, Teen, Prince, Mrs. and Queen Categories.

Newly crowned Miss Philippine Earth Florida will represent the US State in the Miss Earth Philippines tilt in the Philippines. If she wins the pageant, she will represent the Philippines in the Miss Earth International competition.

The winners in their respective categories are: Princess Category: Princess Orlando “Samuelle Crockett”, Teen Category: Teen Ocala “Jammie Jollie”, Prince Category: Prince PSL “Steven Orona”, Miss Foundation – Miss Tallahassee “Joella Mosley”, Mrs Category – Mrs Tallahassee “Aileen Ray” and Queen Category (55 years old and above) – Queen Chico CA – Marites Lund.

The MISS PHIL EARTH FLORIDA winners are: MPE Florida Fire – Miss Lutz Fl. “Samantha Chapin”, MPE Florida Eco Tourism – Miss Tallahassee “Joella Mosley”, MPE Florida Water – Miss Las Vegas “Ana Amador”, MPE Florida Air -Miss Tampa “ Hailey DeRigo”, and MPE Florida – Miss Odessa Fl “Josie Ruhlman”.

The pageants were not just shimmering showcases of Filipino beauty and sophistication but were held for a noble purpose: Members of the Philippine community from all over joined the endeavor and helped raise funds for the Bantay Bata 163 Foundation.

Banta Bata 163 is a non-profit social welfare program which aims to protected disadvantged and at risk children through a nationwide network of social services.

Solis said Fiesta Mo sa USA wouldn’t have been a resounding success without the dedication, love, commitment and compassion of the organizers, volunteers, staff, guests, participants and sponsors.

Amid the recent pandemic, Fiesta Mo sa USA continues to give hope and remind ourselves and the whole world of the unique, one-of-a-kind Filipino resiliency. That Filipinos never give up. Amid adversities, we simply bounce back and improve our lives,” Solis added.

Solis vowed that future FMSU events will be brighter, bigger, fabulous and more memorable.

“Fiesta Mo sa USA is a labor of love and collaboration of hard work plus dedication from people who come from different sectors. After a two-and-a-half year hiatus due to the pandemic, FMSU returned with a fantastic bang and gave a big assurance that everything is, and will always be alright. To all those who helped, we send our heart-filled love and gratitude. To Zanjoe and Kim Chiu, we love you and thank you. To the Fil-Am community, mabuhay po kayo,” said one of the FMSU’s brains and organizers Miss Ri Za.
