5 Caloocan streets placed under granular lockdown

THE Caloocan City government placed under one-week granular lockdown five streets in two barangays starting at 12:01 a.m. on Friday up to 11:59 p.m. on September 09, 2021.

Among the areas which will be placed under granular lockdown are Magsaysay Street between B Serrano and 6th Street in Brgy. 123 and streets of Panay, Guinugitan, Masbate and Victoria located in H. Dela Costa Homes in Brgy. 179.

Mayor Oca said he ordered the lockdown of Magsaysay Street after the City Health Department recorded six active cases of COVID-19 in the area and around 119 close contacts, including 27 families while 16 active cases were recorded in Brgy. 179 with 103 close contacts.

Mayor Oca said that during the entire period of lockdown, residents are not allowed to go out of their houses except for frontliners, essential government employees, policemen, barangay officials and individuals who needed medical attention.

A mass swab testing and contact tracing will also be conducted to residents in the area while misting and disinfecting operation will also be carried out.

Mayor Oca said the city government will start distributing food packs to the families affected by the granular lockdown on Friday.

“Pinulong natin kahapon ang mga kapitan ng apektadong mga barangay upang kaagad na mkaapaghanda at maabisuhan ang mga residente. Sa ating mga mamamayan, patuloy po tayong humihingi ng pang-unawa at kooperasyon sa upang mapigilan natin ang patuloy na hawahan at pagdami ng mga tinatamaan ng sakit,” Mayor Oca said.
