Batangas cops net 59 felons in weeklong ops

CAMP GEN, MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas — Within a week, up to 59 individuals were arrested by the Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) led by Provincial Director Police Colonel Pedro D. Soliba under the supervision of Police Regional Office CALABARZON Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. during anti-criminality operations in the province from February 5-11.

A report said Batangas PPO operatives served 15 warrants of arrest which resulted in the arrest of 15 wanted persons with various charges.

Some 29 people were arrested for violating Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.” Seized during the operations were 9.82 grams of suspected shabu and 16.8 grams of marijuana with a Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P69,774.

Meanwhile, six anti-illegal gambling operations resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals. Seized from the suspects was bet money totallingP15,350.

One was arrested for illegal possession of a cal. .38 revolver without a serial number.

Col. Soliba thanked the police force for continuously enforcing the law and conducting police operations to ensure the safety and order of the community. “Let’s be disciplined at all times. You are the ones who will help us the most to achieve a peaceful and prosperous community,” he added.
