A TEENAGER died after being beaten by a group allegedly due to a misunderstanding in Taal, Batangas, the other day, police said.

Taal Municipal Police Station (MPS) top cop Maj. Dante L. Majadas identified the fatality as Malvin Araja alias “Margarete”.

Majadas said the suspects identified as Gander Alilio, 16; Ram Rein Marcellana y Alarcon, 15; Jayvee Salazar, 15; and a 16-year-old Mark John Comeso.

Police initial investigations showed that the victim and the four suspects were seen talking around 1:00 a.m. in Bgy. Zone 5, Taal, Batangas, when a misunderstanding and a heated argument erupted that prompted the suspects to maul Araja.

Majadas said Araja sustained injuries in the head and was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead at around 12:51 p.m. of the same day by attending physician Dra Amelia Mangubat due to internal hemorrhage.

All suspects were turned over to the Department of Social Worker and Development Office (DSWD), said Majadas. By Jojo Cesar Magsombol
