3 MC-riding men killed after evading checkpoint
LLANERA, Nueva Ecija — Three motorcycle-riding armed men, alleged to be “hired guns” were killed in a gunfight after they ignored and drove past a checkpoint here on Monday night, July 18, 2022.
Lt. Col. Ranny G. Casilla, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) commander, said the armed encounter took place during the implementation of checkpoint operations by his men and the local police under Capt. Ronan James Eblahan in Bgy. Gomez at 10:50 p.m. here.
Casilla said personnel manning the checkpoint flagged down the two motorcycles being driven by the suspects but they refused to pull over. Instead, they sped off, prompting lawmen to give chase.
However, the three suspects aboard the two motorcycles fired at the pursuing lawmen, resulting in a firefight that led to the suspects’ instantaneous deaths.
Recovered were the suspects’ three cal.9mm pistols, three fired bullets for cal. 5.56mm, 11 FCCs for cal.9mm., and the suspects’ black Yamaha MIO and black Honda Click motorcycles with no plate numbers.
