3 gun ban violators rounded up

CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan — At least three election gun ban violators were arrested on Wednesday in a series of police operations in Bulacan.

Bulacan acting police director Col. Rommel Javier Ochave said elements of the Marilao Police conducted “Oplan Sita” on Lias Road, Marilao, Bulacan after they were informed of indiscriminate firing incident in Bgy. Lambakin, Marilao that caused fear and panic to residents.

The operation resulted in the arrest of Kyle Christian Mendones, of Lias, Marilao, and seized from him were a .45 pistol and four live bullets.

In San Miguel town, a former barangay tanod Marcelo Yambot, of San Agustin was arrested for illegal discharge of firearm in front of his house.

Responding police officers saw the suspect holding a .38 revolver and asked Yambot to surrender his gun but the suspect pointed the gun to his head and fired.

He was rushed to the hospital and was declared in stable condition.

Meanwhile, an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Marilao Police caught Nomer Mendoza alias Buboy, of Ibayo, Marilao, who yielded six sachets of shabu, a loaded .38 pistol, a belt bag, and the buy-bust money.
