CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Three members of the Anakpawis-Bulacan chapter returned to the government side and withdrew support to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) while three former CTG (Communist Terrorist Group) members surrendered to authorities in Pampanga and Olongapo City.

In reports submitted to Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., members of the Bataan police and other police units, facilitated the surrender of three female members of Anakpawis and the withdrawal of support to CPP-NPA in Limay, Bataan.

They also turned in a .38 revolver with four live ammunition.

In Angeles City, former rebel alias “Bong” and an active supporter of WKLG SPC “pledged” his support back to the government as he surrendered one .38 revolver, one 40mm (high explosive), and explosive materials ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil).

In Olongapo City, police and military units facilitated the surrender of “Ka Julie,” a farmer and native of San Marcelino, Zambales, a former member of Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB) Sangay Yunit Guerilla/Provincial Yunit Guerilla (SYG/PYG) under CTG operating in Zambales.

He also surrendered a .38 revolver, one .38 live bullet, and one hand grenade.

Also, another rebel, “Ka Buknoy,” of Kilusang Larangan Guerilla (KLG West), surrendered and turned in one .45 pistol, one magazine, and an M67 grenade to Pampanga 1st PMFC together with Floridablanca police and other police units.

Hidalgo noted that the continuous surrender and withdrawal of support are the result of the joint police and military operations in identified CTG-affected areas.

“We call on the remaining CTG leaders and members to surrender and join the government in attaining a long-lasting peace and development for the sake of their families,” Hidalgo said.
