TWO more suspects in the rape-slay of transgender man Ebeng Mayor have been arrested and were charged with homicide and robbery before the Prosecutor’s Office.

A report from the Crime Investigation Section of the QCPD showed that suspects Joel Loyola, alias Nonoy Sablay, 30, and Richard Araza alias Tiago, 34, were arrested at 9:45 a.m. on May 22, 2021 in Phase 3 and 4, Lupang Pangako, Bgy. Payatas B, Quezon City.

The two were arrested following the confession of witness-turned-suspect Zander Dela Cruz, a childhood friend of Mayor.

Mayor’s bloodied body was found in Quezon City on May 20 at a vacant lot at Sitio Bakal in Barangay Silang, three days after the trans man went missing.

The victim’s skull was crushed and a wooden stick had been impaled into the genitals.

Mayor was last seen with the suspects while having a drinking spree on May 17 until the wee hours of May 18.

Police investigators said at around 2:30 am on May 18, Loyola allegedly punched Mayor while they were on the way home.

The victim lost consciousness and was carried by the three suspects to the vacant lot where they allegedly took turns in raping the trans man.

The suspects reportedly hit Mayor on the head with a rock when the victim regained consciousness.

De la Cruz said it was Loyola who inserted a wooden stick into the victim’s genitals.

The suspects then bashed Mayor’s head again with a rock, killing the victim.

It was also De la Cruz who found the decomposing body of the victim. He was later invited to the QCPD-CIS to shed light on the incident but he suddenly admitted his involvement during the interview.

Police Major Elmer Monsalve, chief of the QCPD-CIS said the three suspects had a previous illegal drug case.
